The building project designed by Progetto CMR, the Headquarters of Ferriere Nord – a well-known Italian company in the aluminum sector – was officially opened last October 11th.

Located near the Alps of Friuli, the new office building in Osoppo is charaterized by flexible layout, sustainability, horizontal dynamism and anti-seismic structure.

The client’s core business inspired the entire design. Steel elements enrich the main façade and create an interesting contrast with the reinforced concrete structure. The combination of materials, shifting horizontal planes and the aluminum frames of the windows further enlighten the buildings.
The central triple-height hall is the core of the 5100 sqm-building, representing the intersection of its main elements: two T-placed rectangular volumes, linked by lifts and platforms, and an elegant stair that crosses the floors.
The entrance hall is characterized by an insulated glass façade, with horizontal brise-soleils to screen the building from direct daylight and, at the same time, to let the visitor fully enjoy the wonderful view on surrounding alpine mountains.
The peculiar feature of the building is the presence of shifting terraces, whose volume is the same at every floor. This architectural solution assures a good level of natural light and of climatic comfort. Wide corridors and areas created by shifting floors in turn improve connection and flow between different offices and departments.
Massimo Roj, CEO of Progetto CMR, stated: “We are proud to leave a design mark in this part of Italy, through a project that was able to satisfy every single client’s needs and that ultimately reflected its corporate values, in line with our design philosophy Less Ego More Eco”.
