A new Award goes to Generator Hostel Venice; in addition to the prize received during the 10th Annual Hospitality Design Awards in the category “Public Spaces (Lifestyle/Boutique)”, the venetian hostel has been awarded the EHDA 2014 – European Hotel Design Awards, as an example of best “Lobby, Lounge & Public Areas”.
The hostel is located in one of the most picturesque venetian areas with an amazing view of San Marco square, and overlooks the Giudecca Canal. The project highlights the international brand Generator Hostels, its eclectic and cozy design, perfectly adapted to the needs of young and international users.
The collaboration’s result between Progetto CMR and Design Agency is a mash-up of historic authenticity, contemporary design and cheeky knick-knacks creates a space unlike any other in Venice. The laid back design is inviting and amusing, appealing to a variety of travellers and experiences. Generator Venice gathers the best aspects of its Venetian surroundings and puts them on display in a cool, contemporary setting. By serving the dual purpose of accommodation and social hub, Generator has set a fire under Venice’s hotel scene.
The EHDA 2014 jury defined this project as “fun, flexible space attractive to the wide demographic the brand seeks to attract. It is innovative, intelligent and great value for money all wrapped up with style. Generator, is reinventing the hostel, making incredible design both accessible and affordable for a new generation of travellers.”
