Rewriting the City Through Imagination and Design
On the occasion of Arch Week 2025, Progetto CMR presents a one-of-a-kind event: the “Romolo Tall Tales Tour”. Open to the public and free of charge (reservation required at press@progettocmrinternational.com), the event will take place on Tuesday, October 28, from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM, with the meeting point at Progetto CMR’s headquarters in Via Franco Russoli 6.
The initiative is organized in collaboration with IULM University and Fondazione Cassoni, two institutions that help shape the vibrant Romolo district.
A New Way to Experience Urban Space: Details and Stories
The “Romolo Tall Tales Tour” stems from a deep reflection on contemporary urban engagement: the tendency to consume the city by ticking off a list of must-see landmarks, often without leaving room for personal experience and memory.
Progetto CMR offers a radically different approach, inspired in part by new methods for managing overtourism (such as those developed in Japan). The goal is to “break conventions and dismantle the obvious”, empowering people to focus on the often-overlooked details of the urban landscape through the power of storytelling—sometimes true, sometimes fictional.
This unconventional approach aims to reignite the visitor’s imagination, allowing for a new and innovative way to rewrite the narrative of the City.
Tour Stops: Architecture and Culture in the District
The guided route will highlight key locations within the district, led by a team of guides alternating between professionals from Progetto CMR, IULM, and Fondazione Cassoni:
-
Progetto CMR Headquarters (Meeting Point)
-
IULM Spaces and a Visit to TAM-TAM – The Widespread Communication Museum
-
The Sign District and Gardens: The complex developed by Covivio and designed by Progetto CMR
-
Villaggio Barona: Italy’s first privately funded social housing project, now a thriving social hub
