Progetto CMR is proud to unveil a cutting-edge new aquatic centre in Rimini, designed as an innovative flagship project in collaboration with Studio Settanta7, Studio Ti, architect Giuseppe De Martino, and the Public Works Department of the Municipality of Rimini.

The facility, located in Viserba Monte between Via Sacramora and Via Baroni, spans a total investment of €10.5 million, with approximately €3.5 million funded by the PNRR “Mission Sport” program and the remainder by municipal resources.

At its core is a 10‑lane competition pool (25 × 25 m), accompanied by two dedicated pools for water fitness and swim initiation for children.

The complex also includes a 150‑seat spectator stand, changing facilities fully accessible to people with disabilities, and support spaces for sports associations.

Additional amenities include a fitness centre, sports retail area, refreshment point, and equipment storage, while two parking lots will serve the facility within the surrounding Don Tonino Bello Park

Architecturally and technologically advanced, the building achieves over a 20% improvement beyond NZEB (Nearly Zero Energy Building) standards, through high‑efficiency materials, integrated photovoltaic systems, heat recovery in the air treatment units, and maximized natural daylight to enhance energy performance and environmental comfort.

Set within a completely redesigned Park Don Tonino Bello, the project enriches the adjacent green space with multi-sport areas, a running track, and dog-walking zones, all interconnected via fully accessible walkways. It embraces nature‑based solutions like rain gardens and increased tree planting as part of a broader urban regeneration strategy.

In short, the Rimini aquatic centre represents a bold act of urban renewal—combining sport, sustainability, accessibility, and architectural identity to serve the local community and establish a new benchmark for public sports infrastructure
