Odeon Palace
Progetto CMR has been appointed, in various capacities, for the implementation of the conservative redevelopment of Palazzo Odeon, which is now reaching the milestone of its 100th anniversary. The complex – with dual access from Via Santa Radegonda 8 and Via Agnello 5-7, covering a total area of over 15,000 sqm in the historic city center – has been listed since 2017 as a site of historical and artistic interest, protected by the Superintendence of Archaeology, Fine Arts and Landscape for the Metropolitan City of Milan. Progetto CMR supports Kryalos SGR, promoter of the redevelopment project for Palazzo Odeon.
Progetto CMR is responsible for the Integrated Design and Construction Management, including the recently completed strip-out works, across all areas owned by the Aedison Fund managed by Kryalos SGR, as well as the common areas.
Based on the original 1920s design, the project includes the redevelopment and conservative restoration of the basement level, preserving the original decorative features of “Sala 2”, in agreement with the Superintendence. This area has direct access from the original historic staircase on Via S. Radegonda, preserving an important cultural venue for the city through an intervention that will ensure the maximum usability of the halls.
In addition, Progetto CMR is overseeing the conservation of both facades on Via S. Radegonda and Via Agnello, enhancing them through a lighting design project, also approved by the Superintendence, as well as the redevelopment of the Portico on Via S. Radegonda with its polychrome marble flooring, the concierge areas on Via S. Radegonda and Via Agnello, the stairwells, and the roof, which will undergo waterproofing works.
“The vision of Progetto CMR for Palazzo Odeon is inspired by a deep respect for this iconic building, beloved by all Milanese who have enjoyed film screenings in one of the oldest and most beautiful cinemas in Italy. The design is rooted in the timeless concept of bringing together various entertainment functions in one space,” states Massimo Roj, Founder and CEO of Progetto CMR.
