The headquartes situated in Via Taramelli has been conceived in order to unify into one building seven Management Areas lo in different buildings. Furthermore, the creation of a temporary headquartes of the Regione was necessary because c restructuring of the Pirelli skyscraper The temporary headquarters hosts seven Management Areas, including the General Committee, with 1,400 employees. Via Taramelli, with its 35,000 square meters, represented a precious occasion to introduce ways of organizing the space, according to the new working above alt, in view of the project of the future new headquartes Progetto CMR had the idea to revolutionalize the concept traditional public building, by means of functional planning, modernity and security, both for employees and citizens.
The project for the new offices in Via Taramelli. in addition to limiting the use of the spaces, is the occasion to propose a new approach towards the building user's need's. The project improves the functioning of the building services and provides a new public image for the Regione Lombardia.

Progetto CMR has planned the space of the largest public office headquartes in Milan. At first, the imposing building presented different typologies of construction according to the different floors, determined by the different uses. By means of a deep analysis, planning procedures have been established in order to render the organization of the space homogeneous and easy to use. The introduction of the organized open space is a revolution for the new headquartes of the Regione Lombardia: the different areas are separated by low walls with archives, which de fine the different operational areas for four people, and are alternated to closed offices and free-standing areas. Another innovating element is the use of colour, which breaks into the typical neutral greyness of the public offices. Bright and full colours, such as yellow and orange, orient the citizens inside the offices and diversify the different operational areas. Sharing concepts have been introduced when planning the meeting and conference rooms, in order to optimise their use and guarantee the optimisation of long term cost.

INTEGRATION

The consulting has taken place in different phases.- from the organization analysis, to the study of the fitting specifications. The feasibility study and the proposal of interior design have furthermore defined the instructions relating h the finishing, both inside and outside the buildining.

PROCESS

The preparation works of Via Taramelli have been carried out during ore year. The consulting of Progetto CMR began on May 2001 and finished on February 2002.
