Canon Italia has focused on a complete architectural and plant engineering requalification of its new Italian premises in Milanofiori through a planning strategy for the internal spaces. The added value of Progetto CMR's consultation has been the introduction into the work environment of open plan concepts, and teamwork and training facilities for the company's in-house personnel, plus "touch down" and collaboration spaces for the external consultants.
The commercial nature that characterises this firm was interpreted through the strenghthening of the communication among its 550 employees, in a 12.000-square metre site. Greater department efficiencies and management cost controls define the realised intervention. The Group's visibility manifest through a new,simple,linear, and dynamic image that is clear in the new main entrance, the reception and showroom; important spaces for transmitting the nature of Canon products.

INTEGRATION

The bringing about of this new H.Q. for the Canon group necessitated analysis of its requirements, feasibility, studies, detailed space planning, interior design, civil and plant engineering executive planning, and works supervision.

PROCESS

The finished Canon Italia offices were handed over in 1998 after about six months of work.
